Celso Grisi has over 25 years of experience in the tax field, advising large national and international companies in both tax litigation and advisory matters, including tax planning, involving direct and indirect taxes at the federal, state, and municipal levels. His experience includes preparing legal opinions, analyzing the merits of significant tax matters, studying and developing legal theses for legal disputes, as well as structuring foreign investments and mergers & acquisitions throughout Brazil.

With regard to indirect taxes, Celso has extensive experience negotiating and obtaining special tax regimes and formal tax rulings for a large number of companies, especially in the chemical and automotive sectors across various Brazilian states. In addition, he served as a judge on the Tax and Fees Court of the State of São Paulo (TIT/SP) for eight years— an essential experience that contributed significantly to his in-depth knowledge of various indirect taxes.

Celso worked for PwC in New York for two years, advising hedge funds in particular on structuring their investments and divestments in Latin America. He also taught Corporate Tax Law at the Mackenzie University Law School and has published numerous articles in specialized legal periodicals in Brazil.

He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Brazilian Association of Financial Law (Associação Brasileira de Direito Financeiro – ABDF), affiliated with the International Fiscal Association (IFA); member of the Brazilian Institute of Tax Law (IBDT); and member of the Transnational Taxation Network (TTN), affiliated with the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD).
